A quadrant is a geometric shape that consists of one-fourth, or a quarter, of a full circle. It is characterized by a central angle of 90 degrees, which divides the circle into four equal parts.
Quadrants are often used in geometry and trigonometry to measure angles and calculate various geometric properties.
They are named based on their position relative to the x and y axes in a Cartesian coordinate system, with Quadrant I being in the upper-right, Quadrant II in the upper-left,
Quadrant III in the lower-left, and Quadrant IV in the lower-right.
